Feel free to surf my web blog :: loans for bad credit"
I am getting a ton of "blog" commentary these days. Many of them look very much like they are written by the same person who sent me the above comment. I'm sort of thrilled with the attention, because I love attention. Don't we all?
What confuses me just a bit is what kind of a blog am I being invited to visit. Who are these people who send me about 25 "comments" a day on my blog? I'm offered a lot of options. I can learn to increase my skill at playing poker. I can find out about "male enhancement therapy". I can lower my car insurance.
Frankly, I'm sort of fascinated. Most of the comments are fine if you don't mind that they really have not bothered to read the post. The comments tell me I have done a wonderful job of explaining a difficult situation. Or sometimes that I am truly gifted. (I sort of like that one.) But frequently, they are very quick to invite me to check out their sites.
Now I feel a little guilty because I have never clicked on any of these links. Does somebody pay these people to peruse blogs and leave comments? Does anybody ever reciprocate and go to these weirdo sites?
Okay, I don't really need a loan for bad credit. And, frankly, I play poker just fine. The "male enhancement therapy" that most interests me has to do with electrical wiring and even a little painting and plastering expertise. But that may be just me.
My husband was telling me about a contractor who was held at gunpoint by a woman for 3 days while she forced him to do numerous home repairs for her. Sadly, I understand where she is coming from. But I digress.
Who are these people and why do they feel compelled to comment on my posts using the name 'Anonymous'?
Oh, those darn spammers. They will drive a person crazy.
ReplyDeleteYes, those spammers are annoying. I suspect that the robo-spammer-bots just auto-send thousand of those stupid comments to all of our assorted URLs. Why I have no idea?
ReplyDeleteYou have to wonder how they can afford to pay people to sit and find us only to get no traffic from us.
ReplyDeleteThose spam messages are driving me crazy. I even considered not blogging any more. It takes precious time to mark each one as spam, then delet them. I'm frustrated and admire you, as always, for taking a humorous spin on this.
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing well.
I used to be a little jealous because I never got even one spam. I thought it meant I wasn't popular or important enough to bother with. Hah! I'm not jealous anymore.
ReplyDeleteMaybe some people do get some traffic from these type of things, but I doubt it. I think you are probably right that it's robo stuff and not real people doing it. But it does amuse me to think of some weird person sitting at their computer in their parents garage sending these out for a penny a piece.
ReplyDeleteI think they have driven me crazy. I'm starting to read what they say.
ReplyDeleteHaha..maybe you and I should start a little robospam company. Surely you and I are clever enough to come up with fun spam comments. We definitely could do better than "I find the quality of your post interesting".
ReplyDelete1/2 of my day is spent ignoring and deleting those crazy emails and comments!
ReplyDeleteI am a clean Eastern European woman and very large bosoms. I am interested in making new friend for potential romance and love relations. I think you and I could have many happy times from the things you write on this blog. Please come and surf my site too "bad credit payday loans", I have many sexy time photos for you there.
ReplyDeleteSee, it's not that hard. I think we are on to something Cheryl.
Oh yeah, who wouldn't want to have that comment on their blog. Bloggers would retrieve that out of the spam folder and post it proudly on their site. If there is money to be made in the robo-spam writing biz...you deserve some of it.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, sometimes I scare myself.
ReplyDeleteUm, do you think you could forward me one or two of those male enhancement messages. They're for a friend.
ReplyDeleteDid you want the electrical wiring manual or the "Plastering for Dummies", Dufus?
ReplyDeleteI get probably a dozen or so of those anonymous comments every week. Some actually have text, but are quite obviously spam. I do not click on any links. Your computer could end up with a virus or several. I'll have to share some of my "finer" ones sometime.
ReplyDeleteI know of a particular writing challenge hosted by the Queen of All That Is Cheese that NEEDS you.
ReplyDeleteOh Tami, the only way I could participate is if The Queen would let me just leave "spam" comments. I'll be checking you guys out ever day though! Lord! Those things are exhausting!
ReplyDeleteSome of what I get can be sort of funny but I never click on the links either. I don't even open emails from people I don't know after getting a virus that ate everything on my computer one time.
ReplyDeletekinda scary.
ReplyDeleteActually, I think it's sort of funny, but annoying just the same.
ReplyDeleteI've been getting a ton of those comments too!
ReplyDeleteLook at the bright side Caro! We're popular!
ReplyDeletetheir cousins they me too write. i like you blog very much like mine it is how wonderful! feel free to surf my web page: The Equestrian Vagabond
ReplyDelete(oh, help, now I'm starting to talk like them)
I too find you web page instructional and even miraculous at times but still I am needing help with your platform. Please feel free and reasonable to email me at anytime for more considerations. (Oh, Damn! I'm too good at this!)
ReplyDeleteAh, those spam comments! I see very few of them, since Akismet keeps them away for me. I should go and check out my spam folders from time to time because very occasionally a legitimate comment gets in there, but really very seldom. Mostly it's full of people offering me credit, girls, male enhancement, gifts of this or that, 'genuine' designer goods etc.
ReplyDeleteSometimes they're fishing for sales. But sometimes, sadly, they're fishing for your personal details so they can clean out your bank account. Sometimes they want to direct you to a porn site, or one which will infect your computer with the virus of your choice. DO NOT click on their websites!!
Don't you just love spam! I delete without reading!
ReplyDeleteSpam makes me feel loved,Fiona. I'm sick. I know.
ReplyDelete25 a day?!?! That's a lot. You're like the blog prom queen!
ReplyDeleteI have wondered where all the energy came from to make irrelevant comments. It's confusing and intriguing. Gives me the idea to starts making nonsense comments but I probably already invest a good deal of time doing that already.
ReplyDeleteHI. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I COME TO SEE YOUR SITE. IT IS GREAT. PLEASE VISIT MINE. I PROMISE ITS AWESOME. I BOOKMARKED YOUR SITE TOO. I WILL VISIT A LOT. YOU HAVE AMAZING STUFF. YOU ARE AMAZING!

ReplyDeleteWhat an educational blog! I have learned a lot from this! *insert a ton of random links here*
ReplyDeleteI normally get a ton of stuff about Viagra :(
You are very special. But not totally unique in this matter.
ReplyDeleteNo, PJ, you are amazing. I visit you all the time. (Restraining order?)
ReplyDeleteMe too, Totsy!
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteWell, now I'm jealous. I never get visits from Annie Onymous. It may have something to do with your Disqus settings. I think I have a spam filter. Love the story about the contractor held hostage.
ReplyDeleteI get viagra too. But mostly loan information or porn sites.
ReplyDeleteYou are a screen writer. We could do a lot with that story, my dear Jayne!

My spam filter catches the strangest comments. I think they just write something they think will fit any sort of post and mass post. They don't get through though, so what is the point?
ReplyDeleteYou too? And, I thought I was the only one Anonymous loved. Damn - That two timing louse! How dare he! I get "love letters" on both of my blogs from "him" or "them". They get thrown into an " Approval" folder before they are published. I don't want to automatically throw any post out with a link in it in case one of my dear readers has sent it. And, no, I feel no guilt about not "visiting" their sites whatsoever. Take that you two timing low rent no name poster!!
ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to feel left out! I don't get any awesome blog spam! I did once click on a link from my traffic sources only to find out it was a Google crawler that checks my page status. You get all the good stuff! Personally, I'd like to get the male enhancement things and secretly grind them up and put them in the coffee pot at work just to see if anyone acts differently.
ReplyDeleteI think you and I know some of the same people, Linda. Frankly, I wish I didn't know them.
ReplyDeleteI have been getting them too....awesome blog spam!
ReplyDeleteI know, right?
ReplyDeleteDamn it Ann. Next thing you'll be my sister wife. I thought I was the only one but now... my illusions are shattered.
ReplyDeleteAngie, men act different all the time. They'd just be a bit goofier if they were enhanced.
ReplyDeleteI like it when they call me awesome. But I still won't click on their links.
ReplyDeleteDo you really think it's Nicky and Mike?
ReplyDeleteI've been getting them, too. Sometimes it will be like five in a row with different people but same source....probably computer generated.
