Hank Jr. Has A Point

"I like to play good music and have a good time

I love to hear old trains rolling down the line

I am into happy and I don't like sad

And I like to have women I never had"...

Alex is on his way to Las Vegas.  He's got meetings tomorrow there.  Uh huh.

Seems to me, there's a lot of hanky panky in Sin City.  But I really don't worry about Alex too much.  He's really not that much of a hanky panky kind of guy.  I'm more likely to get into trouble than he is.  I get bored when my husband is away.  I'm sometimes tempted to light a small fire just for the excitement of being able to call the fire department.  Know what I mean? Now, okay, I've never actually done that, but it has crossed my mind.

There is something that is so tempting about something new, isn't there?  Whether it's a new dress or a new "friend", it's just so fun to unwrap a new package.  After I've worn the dress, usually I think about tossing it or donating it.  Where's the surprise!  Where is the excitement!

I told Alex to try and catch the Britney show while he's in Vegas.  I understand she's the hottest ticket in town.

I think I'll just mix myself a little Jack and Coke and listen to Hank.

  1. Hank and Jack and Coke...could make for an interesting night...or not! Don't get into two much trouble while Alex is in LA!

  2. I love Hank Williams (both Senior and Junior), but I'd have to do too much work to get in trouble. (I've already put on my pajamas.)

  3. Sounds like a nice way to chill out and stay out of trouble.

  4. Just make sure not to knock over any lit candles while your pouring your Jack and Coke. It would be a real shame if the firemen had to show up to rescue you while you're lounging around in nothing but a nightie. ;-)

You always make me smile! Hope you enjoy your time while he's away.

  6. I know I am bad, Fiona, but I'm not gonna change now. I actually hate it when Alex travels. I like having him home.

  7. Oh heck, Nicky. Hank Jr. doesn't need candles to get him in the mood. Just look at him!

  8. I chilled with Jack and Coke and Hank until about 9 PM. Then I went to sleep.

  9. Well, like Hank used to say "Are you ready for one football?"

  10. Monday nights aren't the same without him.

  11. Just remember: What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

  12. And what happens in Alameda stays in Alameda.

  13. Did you notice I said "two much trouble" as in you and Hank or Jack and Coke? Did you behave yourself? For the record, I could be very happy living in my pjs! Throw in Jack and Ginger and I might be ecstatic!

  14. I did listen to Hank for a spell, and then went to bed. Zoe curled up on one side and Harry on the other. Didn't leave room for Hank or Jack. Damn! That's kind of sad!

  15. David and I will be going to Vegas next weekend. We like to celebrate Dr. King's birthday the traditional way--by playing pai gow poker and drinking "business juice" (Jack and Coke, without the Coke). Happy New Year, by the way! xo

  16. I like that song, now that you mention it. Seems like more fun is on the end of being the unwrapper than the one who's being unwrapped and tossed out like day old bread. Or something to that effect.

  17. Oh Totsy, I do like having a "one night stand". But like day old bread, they can leave before there expiration date. I didn't say I did that, I just said I liked it.

  18. I love your view of the "real world". For all the things I missed when I was young, I enjoy reading of your adventures in life. You make me smile and laugh! Dwight

  19. My real world is not everybody's, Dwight! Sometimes it's just a flight of fancy. You always make me smile with your comments and charm. Your wife is a lucky woman!

  20. You are too funny. I appreciate your love of spontaneity. I, on the other hand, love the security of routine and structure so...I am more the kind that hates to toss away my old dress that may be terribly out of fashion because I love the color or how it fits. New, fresh and surprising isn't for me...but then again...I might start a fire because firemen are just so HAWT.

  21. Now, Cheryl, if you look at that picture of HWJr., you know that's an outfit you'd only try on once. Firemen are very cute, even when they are sooty, but It's hard to look really cute when fire is all around you. Be careful with matches, Honey!

  22. There is something exciting about "new" things. The holidays are a perfect example of that! And I'm not gonna lie, I wanna see that Britney show!

  23. I'm with you B! I'd go see Britney too!

Me, I get excited about new books. I get in less trouble that way.
    ; )
And speaking of Britney, I saw the documentary on that show and it was pretty fascinating.

  25. I get very excited over new books and I understand you have one coming out very soon that I really can't wait to read!

Britney is a sad young woman. I think she has some talent, and she's very pretty, but I think she's been used by just about everybody in her life since she was a child. I don't begrudge her success. I just wish she could have some true happiness along with it.
