Where Are We Going Now?

I wish I was more like Harry. He thinks everything is a fun adventure. When I get in the car, I'm all too aware of "where I'm going".

Sometimes I'm going someplace fun. A lot of times I'm going places I need to go, fun or not. And then there are the places I go that definitely are NOT fun. Harry enjoys it all. Going to the Post Office to stand in line? Great! How fun is that!

Going to the DMV? No problem, I'll wait here in the car until you get back, Mom. No problem. I won't let anybody near the car either so leave the windows open. It'll be fun!

There is something to be learned from creatures who enjoy the journey and could give a flip about the destination. I want to be like Harry, except for the sniffing butts thing.

  1. Yep, I second that. You know the sniffing butts remark triggered a memory....remember the old Cheech and Chong bit they did about the dogs...(Ralph, wasn't it?) Back in the 60's...they were soooooo bad and we laughed soooo hard. Good times.....

  3. Hickory the Wonder Dog is the same way... happy to go anywhere, happy to hang with me at home. Just wants to be close to his people!

  5. My sister used to have a dog that would go crazy if you asked her if she wanted to go for a ride. She would start barking and running around and jumping up and down. Then, when she got in the car she would just lie down and go to sleep almost immediately. haha

  6. Harry goes crazy when he knows he's going to the car. The problem with Harry is that he stays that way (crazy that is).

  8. My Clark is the same way. He was in my car as my husband and I moved across country for his new duty station. He would always get out and do his business and then would immediately stand by the bumper and wait for me to open the back hatch so he could get in. We had a great trip, especially Clark.
